Film Review: Penn State at Ohio State, 2021, Part 1

2021 Penn Steves. I present exciting football games from Ohio State, in terms of technique, performance and performance.

Part 2 here.

Some first ideas:

pennsylvania state crime

  • This line of attack continues to flow in large numbers along the line of attack. The right is particularly concerned, but the left is not without problems. This is especially true in the passing game, but in the running game there is a lot of technique and missed work.
  • Clifford initially looked like his predecessor in Iowa, battling lightning before being injured. OSU put a lot of pressure on Clifford and you could see Clifford's eyes drop and technique suffer as the punches went up.
  • Jahan Dutson deserves a lot of attention, but I like Parker Washington a lot. With Dutson's attention, Washington is slowly improving the game and can get a lot of good out of the slot.
  • This attack offers a lot of edge form and a lot of screen RPO (and still includes some low RPO). Combined with regular use of activity (later on and off the court, tees are dealt formally, WRs are formed), you will find many creative ways to win numbers, gain an advantage and identify the cover.
Pennsylvania State Defense
  • Outside of Wisconsin, I think it's the best B1G defense. Iowa has a lot to say, but I think the differences and backlash that PSU brings to the table are even more encouraging (although they could go down a level). After losing some depth in the DT, they showed some unusual fronts, but performed well. Stack the game up front with lots of background rotation. You don't know what you will get after burning.
  • There are players at all levels of defense. I had a lot of admiration for Arnold Ebceti, I think he had a day one draft in mind, although he would probably finish day two because of his height. Lucta is not a passenger but he is very good at racing. Their LBs are very quick, starting with former 5-star Brandon Smith. And the background is very athletic and fun to watch, especially Jacqueline Brisker. It is important that there are no "weak points".
  • Heavy clothes and spinners, on the other hand, are fun and often work well, but when players start in the wrong place, they bite. This can cause two problems: 1) arriving late from the place to be covered; 2) More "cleaning" than you can see in the standard steps can be dangerous for off-road riding.
Disgusting Ohio State
  • Overall, the attack is still very dangerous. They combine high speed and high technicality at all skill points, especially in WR. They do a good job attacking all three decks in the playoffs and are dangerous on the ground due to the risk of overruns if you keep your eyes on their backs.
  • Stroud made steady progress throughout the year. He reads the cover better than at the beginning of the year and releases the ball in time. I really like the time spent in the short/mid-season, which helped a lot with the work of Jackson Smith-Nijigba.
  • There are unusual issues with OL, often with identity differences. Many of the issues that have arisen in defensive line zoning are still unclear in the open schedules. Other gaps are added, but not yet. In my opinion, it was "four additions" because some size issues allow for fast internal play. It's still a very good unit, but it breaks down more often than we're used to seeing. I wonder if the season is starting to pay off for the young breeder.
Ohio State Defense
  • Use this tool day and night rather than at the beginning of the year . Lots of pressure planning and more "worrying" pressure ( still only brings four or four hides , but skipping an outdoor run). Athletes can clearly see the benefits they will get from wearing the cover and changing the cover, although still 3. Skin / 1. Skin-based.
  • The defensive line had a good day. PSU OL looks good on DL, but usually good pressure comes off the edge. Also starts flashing LB level, especially Steel Chambers selector switch (much better than RB name than LB name). It's still not where it should be most of the time, but at least it's strong compared to last season's competition, although it could still fail.
