Film Review: Michigan State at Indiana, 2021

I share interesting bits, schematically, technically, from the 2021 Indiana football game in Michigan.

At the end of the article, I will briefly talk about the Michigan v. Michigan.

Michigan

The pros and cons come mainly from the previous looks, but some things have emerged.

  • Slade had a very good DT in this game, arguably the most annoying DL in MSU.
  • In attack-defense, some serious tricks helped the MSU a lot.
    • Up front, moving from a strong side split to a weaker side split helped make the LBs a little more stable, using the strong momentum of the angled DL against them.
    • On the defensive, the move from conventional Cover 3 և Cover 4 mods to more human / external media limited some of the screen elements that were very effective in the first half (especially the edge). The downside was that this resulted in a series of defensive interference flags.

  • The offense tended to have a solid Michigan offensive plan, using movement and inside training to boost numbers and take advantage of them.
  • Experienced guys are strong. There are some in the WR who can adapt well to the ball in the air (which helps them gain DPI), I think their RBs are really solid but not explosive.
  • I really like LB, especially with McFadden. I think they are good at collecting blocks, understanding gap discipline, trading for free caps on the ball.
  • Despite being a good CBA playmaker, the defender has worked extremely well to keep away. They have a strong sporting spirit there, they prevented big blows at Moscow State University.
Indiana vs:
  • OL has a lot of work to do. There were decent extensions based on MSU breaking problems. With this move, he was more successful in limited experiments. But they could not enter, the archers constantly rose to the second level with great difficulty, regardless of emergencies.
  • It is clear that QB had problems with this. Accuracy, defensive reading, etc. He left a lot of yards - some points on the scoreboard. This problem խնդիրը The OL problem mentioned above obviously plays a role in the red belt problem.

If Michigan could finish driving with a click, I think it would be difficult for MSU to have enough resources to earn enough points. If MSU could detonate its explosives, I think it would be difficult at first for Michigan to reverse transition crime (note this is different from a balanced transition). Michigan runners / walkers must find a way to pass the ball to Walker from outside the box.
